Blessed by the Best

Whew! We pretty much spent the months of June and July traveling. Not that I'm complaining. We've made some great family memories and got to spend a lot of quality time together! We've seen lots of family we normally don't get to see and just had a wonderful time.

While on our trips, God really got my attention. Driving together for 1600 miles, I couldn't speed up time, no matter how hard I tried. I really got to know and understand our girls so much better after having spent 1600 miles in the car with them. God showed me that I tend to rush, rush, rush through much through out life when I get into the same old day in and day out. I'm missing meaningful conversations and fun times of play when I'm more focused on the laundry (which is rare), cleaning the kitchen, clean house, cooking. Only having the car, open roads, gas stations, and fast food restaurants, God showed me how to have fun again with the girls. Take a 45 minute break to play outside at a roadside park. What does it matter in the long run. You're traveling 25 hours anyway. Slow down and enjoy the moments you have now.

So we are back, moving slower, and playing more. Something I'm learning from the girls' grandparents. You'd think they had nothing else in the world to do except spend time with their granddaughters, (and my mom and dad were moving while we were at their house.)

We are so blessed and I'll be sharing more about our trips later, but for now...

I just want to brag on one of our long-time dear friends. She is a photographer and has a true gift from the Lord. She was kind enough to capture some family photos/Father's day pics before we left. What a sweet treat it was to come back and get to see all the pics. So, since this blog is about us, why not go see pics of us.

Head on over to http://www.terrarichards.com/ and click on proofing. The password is 4walls. She did a great job at capturing our family and this point in life. The looks on the girls are priceless, and after having spent so much time together, I treasure each face even more. This time will pass all too quick and I'm so thankful we won't forget it. We will have these images to "remember when" the girls were 2 and 3.
