So, we're back. Sorry for the delay in posts. We've been busy around here. I've got lots of news to share, but not lots of time, so I'll start with this one.
I turned 28 this year - I'm getting up there I know. I thought we were going to my sisters house for dinner with her and Doug. Roger, Tam, and Doug were all at work on the day of my birthday, so I made my own birthday cake for us to have for dessert. I got us all ready, and we left for their house. I walk in with hair messed up, Karys is wearing 2 different shoes, and I probably have cake on my skin somewhere. It's just family right?
WRONG! Roger had been planning a surprise party for me b/c I was turned 28 on the 28th. A once in a lifetime birthday. I walked in and heard a little noise...asked Tam who that was, and then "Surprise!" All of our nearest and dearest friends were in the house. Their kids and all. I was totally shocked. The fact that they all rushed home to then rush to celebrate with us was very humbling. We truly do have the best group of friends.
"What is this?" (Notice Karys turning on her heels and running away. She does not like loud noises, crowds, or surprises.)
Roger had already planned for a dear friend to make birthday cake. So I brought mine that I made, and we ate hers, because they are yummy. Notice the candle that I'm blowing out - a small tea-lite. When you got love, who needs birthday candles.
All of the kids were outside playing when we sang "Happy Birthday". They came running in and wanted to sing again. It was so cute to see them all line up and sing. I think it was my favorite part of the party.
STILL singing "Happy Birthday". I think they sang it 5 or 6 times.
