We spent this past weekend doing fun things together as a family. Friday night we took the girls to Let's Jump. An indoor storage building full of 20 or so huge bounce houses. Once Karys got over her initial uncertainty she was raring to go! That little girl can jump and jump! Hannah loved running around and catching the little balls all over the place. She started bending at the knees and trying to jump when she was inside the little bounce houses. Roger and I had a hard time keeping up with Karys as she zoomed through in and out of all the obstacle courses.
Saturday Roger got to do something he's been dreaming about since I was pregnant with Karys. Roger took Karys to Academy and bought her a turquoise blue and hot pink Barbie fishing pole! He also got her a little tackle box and 24 worms. After that they were off to Bear Creek Park to go fishing, and what a time they had. Karys helped to pick out the worms and put them on the hook. I hear that for every one worm put on the hook, 4 worms were saved by a curious two year old and thrown into the water missing the torture of the hook. She wasn't all that interested in casting and reeling the fish in, but the worms were a huge hit! All in all they caught 4 fish. But more importantly, Karys and Roger were able to have a special Daddy/daughter time that has been long coming. Roger said that next summer it'd be Hannah's turn. Not sure how our dainty little one will fair with dirt on her hands.
This evening after Roger finished mowing he said, "Well, this wasn't a fun family day." We know they can't all be fun, but we are so thankful for the ones we have and looking forward to many more to come.
